Jewelry

Candy colored jewels are hot as well as metal jewelry.  When wearing any kind of jewelry, make sure it goes with your outfit.  In other words, do not wear a huge necklace with an embellished top or dress. 

Dresses 

When it comes to dresses, bright colors are in.  Not like neons, but bright pink or blue.  As every woman should own a black dress, it should be your second choice to wear out to a nice dinner or party.  When it comes to the empire waist line, do not wear it anymore.  Fabrics are also something to think about.  Silk is a good choice it done right.  To make sure a silk dress is sewed well, check the seams for any puckering as that is a sign of poor sewing. (Silk is extremely hard to sew.)  Jersey cotton or fabrics similar to that are the most comfortable and most versatile.  Also, sheer fabrics and ruffles are a better choice than a maxi dress.  

Shoes

This is my favorite subject.  The simple T strap sandal is in instead of the embellished flip-flop.  If you do not know what this is, do not fear I will explain.  The T strap sandal has low heel and sometimes no heel.  It has a strap in between your toe that goes up to meet an ankle strap (hence the T).  These come in countless colors and can be found everywhere.  When the words high heel come up some people fear, but there is no need.  If you prefer lower shoes then go with a T strap, but if you like the heel, you are in luck.  Platform sky high heels are in this summer instead of midhight pumps.  Make sure that you practice walking in then though, as the worst thing is to not be able to walk in your shoes.

Swimsuits

A cool and interesting cut is a great choice for this summertime necessity.  A simple black bikini can be another choice but stay away from overly feminine.  If you are like me and you need to be wearing a racing suit most of the time, try to pick one that you feel really good in and that has a cool design or pattern on it.  Try to stay away from the suit that everyone else has unless you need to have that for a team suit.

Prints

Animal print is surely in this summer.  Be careful to not go too over the top though.  Graphic looks are also in, but stay away from floral or botanical.

Accessories

Belts: Try a jeweled belt to brighten up an outfit.  Tribal belts are also an okay choice, but stay away from the western look.

Purses: Clutches that are made of skin or have embellishments are in instead of mesh bags.  You don't have to have the same skin on the bag either, have a few.

Collars: Over-the-top collars are in.  Fur and jewels are a great choice.  Stay away from scoop cuts that are loose and flowy.
