On this page, volunteer/employment positions are posted for weather forecasters, support staff, and electronics at the ALAC Weather Service Madison/Middleton, WI.

A General Forecaster at the ALAC Weather Service is open to High School students with a keen interesting in sharing their skills in the field of meteorology to help forecast for the ALAC.  All necessary training is provided if the forecast does not have the required amount of previous forecast experience.  General Forecasters are eligable for promotion to a Senior Forecaster after 9 months of work at ALAC Weather if a position is available.  If you have additional questions on this position, please email employment@alacweather.com.

 

 

 

The Ast. Forecaster-In-Charge at the ALAC Weather Service manages staffing and assists the Forecaster-In-Charge and Chief Operations Officer with managing forecast operations.  Previous forecast experience with ALAC is encouraged, but not required.  It is encouraged work as an intern forecaster or higher before applying for this position.  If you have additional questions please email Austin Lacey at: austin.lacey@alacweather.com.   

 

 

INTERN FORECASTER (Volunteer Position)

 

An Intern Forecaster at the ALAC Weather Service is open to High School students (and possibly middle school students strong in meteorology) who have a keen interest in forecasting weather and the science of meteorology.  All training and materials are provided for this position, and no prior experience is required.  An intern will assist the general and senior forecasters with day-to-day forecast operations, and on occasion will be assign forecast shifts.  Once your internship is complete you will likely be promoted to a General Forecaster within ALAC.  If you have additional questions on this position, please email employment@alacweather.com.
